The OSU Monthly Campaign Update tracks progress toward our $625 million campaign goal, celebrates successes along the way, and, above all, showcases the impact philanthropy makes on OSU students, the state of Oregon, and our world.
Monthly Highlights
As of October 31, commitments to The Campaign for OSU have grown to $540.2 million, including $26.6 million in commitments this fiscal year. Learn more about campaign progress.
"This is the time of year when thoughts turn to year-end giving, so for the next two months our development officers will focus on closing gifts," says Shawn Scoville, Senior Vice President of Development & Campaign Director. "We are especially promoting the University Venture Development Fund, which has exceptionally valuable tax benefits for donors."
While some 50,000 donors have created a broad base of support for The Campaign for OSU, leadership gifts will make the difference between meeting and exceeding our goals. The October 16 President's Dinner recognized the university's most generous supporters and gave special honor to members of 1868 Society, our leadership giving society for donors of $100,000 or more. The evening celebrated the ways these gifts are enhancing OSU's ability to educate students, strengthen Oregon, and conduct research that changes the world.
At the dinner, 16 new members were welcomed into OSU's highest donor recognition group in the 1868 Society, the Harris Society: those whose gifts to OSU have exceeded $1 million over their lifetimes. So far, 94 gifts of $1 million or more have been made to the campaign, and they account for 46 percent of all funds raised.
This month's update pays tribute to a few of our new Harris Society members whose gifts are making great things possible:
