The OSU Monthly Campaign Update tracks progress toward our $625 million campaign goal, celebrates successes along the way, and, above all, showcases the impact philanthropy makes on OSU students, the state of Oregon, and our world.
Monthly HighlightsFriends and alumni of Oregon State University added another $4.9 million to The Campaign to OSU in April, bringing the total to $574.9 million. Many generous donors make gifts to benefit students, Oregon, and our world now while also making arrangements in their estate plans that will have an even greater impact in the future. This update features three examples.
Planned Gifts For OREGON
April brought a special announcement about a $1 million commitment to the University Honors College, the largest the college has ever received. This planned gift by an anonymous couple will create endowments in support of its students, faculty, and the dean.
In making their commitment, the donors cited the importance of the University Honors College in keeping Oregon's best students in-state, and even attracting out-of-state students to OSU, some of whom become lifelong Oregon residents.
"We have been impressed with the intellectual acumen of [Honors College] students and believe them to represent those who will contribute to Oregon's successes in the future," the donors said. "We sincerely hope that those who become aware of our intentions and who recognize that estate gifts do not immediately become available will help fill the gap in the meantime."

For THE WORLD: Withycombe Chair in Reproductive Biology (College of Agricultural Sciences)
