The OSU Monthly Campaign Update tracks progress toward our $1 billion campaign goal, celebrates successes along the way, and, above all, showcases the impact philanthropy makes on OSU students, the state of Oregon, and our world.
Monthly Highlights
OSU's 2010-11 fiscal year wrapped up on June 30 with $112.3 million in gifts, marking only the second time in history that donors have contributed more than $100 million to the university in a single year (FY08, when the campaign was publicly launched, remains the best fundraising year at $127 million).
The Campaign for OSU stands at $738 million: $113 million more than the original campaign goal of $625 million, which was passed last October nearly a full year ahead of the original timeline. Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of the OSU community, the campaign has been extended to 2013 with an increased goal of $850 million. Learn more about campaign progress.
"There is remarkable momentum throughout the university community to build on OSU's strengths as a leading international research university. Our internal and external partnerships are getting stronger every year," says Shawn Scoville, Senior Vice President for Development and Campaign Director. "Our fundraising success this year reflects that shared vision and sense of purpose."
This report offers a brief summary of the 2010-11 year and the impact the campaign and its supporters are making on OSU. This includes updates on three priority initiatives of FY11: the Provost's Faculty Match Program, created to generate support for endowed faculty positions; the new home for the College of Business; and phase two of the Sports Performance Center (basketball practice facility). Combined, these three initiatives received more than 30% of the year's gifts.
{NOTE: Summer is a time of preparation at the OSU Foundation, as university deans, directors, and development officers work together to complete detailed fundraising plans for the coming year. Given this focus, the next campaign update will be issued in September.}
