President Ed Ray speaks at the 2011 President's DinnerMonthly Highlights

As of October 31, 2011, commitments to The Campaign for OSU total $755.4 million, including $17.6 million this fiscal year. Learn more about campaign progress.

At the 44th annual President's Dinner November 10, leading members of OSU's philanthropic community gathered to celebrate university achievements and honor some of its most generous donors. In his remarks, President Ed Ray reflected on the campaign tagline, "This amazing place, this historic moment," and how its meaning has expanded.

"While we knew that OSU is an 'Amazing Place,' we didn’t fully understand that our reach could expand so quickly throughout the world, and the speed with which we would be recognized as a truly leading international research university recognized and relied upon around the globe," he said, citing faculty leading global initiatives in many fields.

OSU's leadership donors, the members of our Harris Society are essential partners as the university expands its global footprint, and their gifts are largely responsible for the campaign's success. To date, we have received 131 campaign gifts of $1 million or more, and they account for 45% percent of all funds raised.

The President's Dinner honored 17 new members of the Harris Society (eight couples and nine organizations who reached the $1 million milestone in their giving during the past year):
