The Oct. 16 President's Dinner brought together OSU's most generous donors to celebrate the impact their gifts are having on Oregon State University. Held at the Portland Art Museum, the program featured faculty members and students who described how private gifts to the university have changed their lives.
President Ed Ray thanked members of the 1868 Society for giving OSU "the capacity to shape its destiny and focus on the future during a period when many institutions are paralyzed. . . . You have done more than preserve our ability to serve the people of this state and beyond – you have advanced it!"
Sixteen new members were welcomed into OSU's highest donor recognition group, the Harris Society: those whose generous gifts to OSU have exceeded $1 million over their lifetimes. Seventy-four households and 39 organizations are now part of the Harris Society. The new members include:
