Foundation Services

Welcome to Foundation Services

The Office of Foundation Services in the OSU Foundation provides OSU faculty and campus units with support, strategic planning, and tools for developing and writing successful proposals to private foundations. Grants from private foundations may be available to help support preliminary data and pilots, high-risk/high-reward projects, research led by new investigators, and more.

Training Opportunities

Learn the fundamentals of grant writing through short and informative classes offered monthly.

Getting Started

Our goal is to help you successfully secure the grant funds you need from private foundations. Before you submit your grant proposal, contact us to:

  • Ensure there are no restrictions on a given private foundation. (Examples of restrictions include a limited number of accepted applications and complex application procedures.)
  • Determine whether the private foundation proposals application needs to be entered into Cayuse, the OSU grants management/approval system. (Many private foundations still must go through Cayuse and receive university approval before submission.)

If at any time you have questions about applying to a specific foundation for grant support, contact Foundation Services.
