Presidential Scholarship Initiative

Amazing students are at the heart of Oregon State University. Creating a dynamic learning environment through a critical mass of the highest caliber undergraduates enriches the experience of fellow classmates as well as faculty.

The Presidential Scholarship program is essential to bringing the state’s most academically gifted high school graduates to OSU.

To strengthen this prestigious program and guarantee that funds will always be available for these talented students, OSU has launched the Presidential Scholarship Initiative. This matching opportunity is designed to raise $10 million, doubling the number of endowed Presidential Scholarships.

OpportunitY:

Supported by funding from the OSU Office of the President for five years, the Presidential Scholarship Initiative provides an extra incentive for donors to establish endowed scholarship funds with a commitment of $100,000.

• Make a gift commitment of $100,000 to create a new Presidential Scholarship endowment (valued at $200,000) by December 31, 2013.
• Outright gifts, pledges, and many estate gifts can leverage the matching opportunity to create new endowments.
• University funds matching the endowment’s expected payout will be leveraged to support the donor’s Presidential Scholar(s) for five years.
• When the endowment pledge is paid in full, it will fund the scholarship(s) in perpetuity.
• Donors will be invited to name their Presidential Scholarship.
