The Lois Bates Acheson Veterinary Teaching Hospital demonstrates the power of a new facility to transform an entire program. For years, lack of space kept OSU's College of Veterinary Medicine from engaging in research and teaching related to the care of dogs, cats, and other small animals. Now it can, thanks to the addition of this facility featuring the most advanced spaces for small-animal and large-animal research, teaching, and care. As one of just 28 veterinary colleges in the nation, and the only one in Oregon, the College fills a critical need for the veterinarians who are so needed right now, given a national shortage.
