Endowed chairs are proven catalysts for transformation and achievement. They enable OSU to attract and support extraordinary researchers and teachers who bring our programs to national prominence.

Professorships honor our best minds. These positions, which can be established through endowments or immediately expendable funds, can also reward and support rising stars among the college's faculty, thereby increasing the likelihood of their success and retention.

Naming opportunities in support of faculty

Deanship or Institute Directorship	$5 million endowment
Chair	$2 million endowment
Coach	$2 million endowment
University Professorship	$1 million endowment
Professorship	$500,000 endowment or $25,000 annually for a minimum of 3 years
Faculty Scholar	$250,000 endowment or $12,500 annually for a minimum of 3 years

* The gift levels described above represent university-wide minimums; specific colleges or programs may have higher minimums. For coaching positions, different sports have different minimums. In most cases, endowments support existing university positions. With appropriate institutional approvals, new positions may be created but require substantially higher investments.
