OSU Faculty Excellence Luncheon
May 9, 2012

More than 90 members of the OSU community came together to celebrate the university’s outstanding faculty. OSU’s newest distinguished professors were honored alongside those faculty who have been appointed to academic societies or have been awarded endowed faculty positions.

Stone Literary Prize Reading
May 10, 2012

Inaugural recipient of the Stone Award for Literary Lifetime Achievement Joyce Carol Oates visited with more than 700 students and community friends during events in Corvallis and Portland. The award was created by a generous gift from Vicki and Patrick Stone '74.

Joyce Collin Furman Hall Grand Opening
April 17, 2012

More than 150 donors and university friends celebrated the re-opening and formal renaming of Joyce Collin Furman Hall. The 110-year-old Furman Hall (formerly Education Hall) underwent extensive remodeling and seismic upgrades thanks to state, university and donor support.

 

Tales from Antarctica & Beyond with Noah Stryker ’08
April 12, 2012

More than 150 people attended the reception at the Vue, featuring Noah Strycker, naturalist, adventurer, and author of Among Penguins, published by OSU Press. Guests also heard from OSU Presidential Scholars Mitchell Truong ’13 and Tasha Livingstone ’13.

 

OSU Night at the Symphony

Members of the OSU President’s Circle and 1868 Society gathered at the Heathman Hotel for the 2012 OSU President’s Circle reception in Portland. The Oregon Symphony’s “St. Patrick’s Celebration” concert with Irish Tenor John McDermott followed the reception.

 

OSU President's Dinner
November 10, 2011


OSU's philanthropic community celebrated the university's growing international impact at the 44th annual President's Dinner. The November 10 event at the Portland Art Museum attracted 300 guests and honored the newest members of the Harris Society.

 

Destination OSU 2012
February 25-27, 2011


Destination OSU 2012 was a wonderful time of connection and celebration as more than 200 alumni and friends met in the California desert. This annual gathering, in its 12th year, featured a golf tournament at the Mission Hills Country Club, presentations by OSU faculty on earth and ocean systems as well as the science behind microbrews, plus an awards gala honoring four extraordinary alumni and friends of Oregon State University. Linus Pauling Science Center Grand Opening
October 14, 2011

OSU community members and friends celebrated the completion of this cornerstone project of The Campaign for OSU. Construction of the $62.5 million home of the Linus Pauling Institute and the Department of Chemistry was made possible through the generous support of the Wayne and Gladys Valley Foundation and the family of Al and Pat Reser, along with gifts from 2,600 additional donors and a matching bond from the State of Oregon. Hallie Ford Center for Healthy Children & Families Grand Opening

Friends and campus representatives gathered to celebrate the grand opening of the Hallie Ford Center for Healthy Children & Families at Oregon State University. The center was made possible by the visionary gift of the late Oregon philanthropist, Hallie Ford. See more about this event.


OSU President's Circle Reception & Willamette STAGE Company Play

Members of the President's Circle and 1868 Society gathered at the Majestic Theater in Corvallis for a reception and production of The Play's the Thing, by P.G. Wodehouse. Presented by Willamette STAGE Company, the play kicked off the annual Da Vinci Days Festival. See more about this event.


Rose Parade Viewing Party

OSU alumni and friends painted a section of downtown orange during the 2011 Portland Rose Festival when more than 100 OSU President's Circle donors and family members gathered to enjoy the Grand Floral Parade. Participants were treated to lunch, OSU keepsakes, and reserved seating to take in all the sights and sounds of parade pageantry. See more about this event.


Student Success Center Groundbreaking

Oregon State University celebrated the construction launch for its newest student-support project, the Student Success Center. The planned $14 million facility will be home to academic support programs like BEST and September Scholars when completed in June 2012. See more about this event.
