CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State University Foundation has named Steven M. Schauble as its vice president and chief financial officer. He began his new position on June 12.

Most recently the vice president of finance and chief investment officer of the Washington State University Foundation, Schauble has more than 25 years of financial management experience in higher education.

At the WSU Foundation, Schauble successfully coordinated an investment strategy that propelled the foundation’s endowment performance from the bottom quartile of peer foundations to the top quartile in just two years. He also provided leadership for the WSU Foundation’s information and technology systems, implementing new financial systems for both the foundation and the alumni association.

“Steve brings very high standards of professionalism and integrity to the OSU Foundation,” said Jim Rudd, chair of the OSU Foundation Board of Trustees. “He is a gifted financial manager and a team leader who is known for troubleshooting difficult problems and coming up with workable solutions.”

At the OSU Foundation, Schauble will lead the finance and technology groups and will work closely with the Board of Trustees’ finance, investment and audit committees. He will also prepare the foundation’s finance division for the first comprehensive fund-raising campaign in the university’s history.

“Working on a university campaign is very exciting and very rewarding,” Schauble said. “You get a chance to be a part of the university during a key period of growth and development. I’m delighted to be joining the OSU Foundation team.”

Schauble received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Gonzaga University in 1980 and is a certified public accountant in the state of Washington. He has also served on the Pullman School Board for the past six years and coaches youth baseball and basketball.
