"When we began to plan this campaign, a goal of $1 billion was unimaginable. Yet, here we are, with every confidence that this amazing milestone is in our reach, thanks to our dedicated supporters. Raising the goal isn’t just about a number. It’s about raising our sights as a community and ramping up our to-do list to make life better for our students, our state, and our world."
-- President Edward J. Ray
The final phase of The Campaign for OSU will focus on investments that advance the goals described in the university's strategic plan, and support OSU's drive to be recognized as a leading international research institution.
Campaign donors will help our university reach new levels of excellence, particularly in three core areas of distinction: advancing the science of sustainable earth ecosystems, improving human health and wellness, and promoting economic growth and social progress.
Propelled by an outpouring of support from more than 60,000 households, in March 2012 Oregon State University increased the goal of its first comprehensive capital campaign to $1 billion. The campaign will continue through 2014, increasing support for OSU students, faculty, and programs.
Publicly launched in October 2007, the historic Campaign for OSU has enjoyed a remarkable track record of success. By October 2010 — a year ahead of schedule — donors had surpassed the initial campaign goal of $625 million. Energized by this tremendous momentum and inspired by the university's updated strategic plan, campaign leaders initially approved a revised goal of $850 million, later raised to $1 billion.
Through the campaign, participating alumni, parents, friends, faculty members, and business partners have had an enormous impact on Oregon State University – supporting OSU's world-class faculty, building state-of-the-art facilities, and enhancing innovative programs across campus. Funds donated for scholarships represent the largest such fundraising effort in state history.
Join us as we continue to support OSU's transformative impact on students, Oregon, and the world.
